The teachers planner has been written by Martin Brant. I have over 10 years of experience as a teacher of Computing, ICT and Digital Media in a state funded secondary school in England. Before teaching I worked as a programmer for a software house in London and as a network specialist for an American semiconductor manufacturer. Computers and programming have been a big part of my life for a long time. I started out with a ZX81 at the age of 12 and did Computing (although it's not always been called that!) at O' Level, A' Level and Degree. I now live with my wife (also a teacher), two kids, dog and 7 chickens. Life is VERY full!
For many years I've maintained a stand alone tool that staff in the school I work at have been using quite happily. However, it was starting to show its age a bit and teachers wanted to be able to use their planner when they couldn't get access to their school laptop.
The obvious answer was a web based tool that could be used anywhere and on any device. I was a bit disappointed to discover that there really aren't any tools out there that can do this with the correct level of flexibility to be properly useful. As a teacher, and someone who's written tools for this kind of thing for quite a few years, I feel that what I've done here is actually useful.
However, I'm not arrogant enough to think that it's pefect, so if you can think of something that would make it better please contact me and I'll seriously consider your suggestions.
